Michael Jon Grant

MISSOULA - Michael Jon Grant, 48, of Missoula, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2005, at his home.

Wake services will be 7 p.m. Thursday and funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Malta.

Survivors include his mother, LaVonne (Duane) Compton of Malta; brothers, Dale (Melanie) Fortin of Hays and Doyle (Sue) Grant of Malta; sisters, Lana (Ken) Ulrich and Loy (Edmond) Pekovitch of Malta; his loyal dog, Foster; nephew, Jason Pekovitch; nieces, Candace Crasco, Melinda Fortin, Tina Penovich, Caralee Ereaux, LeeAnn Pekovitch, Whitney and Courtney Grant; and 10 grandnieces and grandnephews.

Mike was born March 14, 1957, in Malta to Leland and LaVonne Grant. He attended school in Malta, graduating in 1975. He attended the University of Montana and later received his business degree at the University of Washington. He was presently employed at Big Sky Supply of Missoula.

Mike was a devoted Grizzly fan, and attending games was a must. He was an avid sports enthusiast who followed the Lakers, Rams and Pirates. He was an active member of the Kiwanas and Sentinel Kiwanas and was involved with the Special Olympics.

Mike enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and loved his Jack Russell terrier, Foster, who was a large part of his life. Mike's family and wonderful friends will miss him terribly; his passing will leave a large void in our lives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leland D. Grant.
