The 20-year-old starting forward is temporarily suspended from participating with the team. She will not play in either Holiday Classic games this weekend against UC Santa Barbara or Mississippi. Lohman, a junior from Bozeman, is considered Montana's top defender by coach Robin Selvig.
According to court records, a Missoula County sheriff's deputy arrested Lohman near the intersection of Third and Reserve Streets on Dec. 20 at 4:12 a.m. The arrest came just hours after Lohman scored 18 points and grabbed a game-high seven rebounds in a win against the Montana-Western Bulldogs.
She was driving between 15 and 20 mph. Lohman repeatedly crossed the shoulder lane, and at one point rolled onto the curb near the sidewalk, the report states.
Lohman did not complete a breath alcohol test, but was taken into custody at the Missoula County jail after the deputy detected a strong odor of alcohol. She also failed multiple field sobriety tests.
Lohman posted a $680 bond and pleaded not guilty in Missoula County Justice Court later the same day. She has requested a jury trial, and court records list Bryan Charles Tipp, of Tipp & Buley P.C. as her attorney.
Although Tipp was unavailable for a statement Friday afternoon, Richard R. Buley, a partner at the firm, said lawyers would reserve any comment for the courtroom.
“We will present our defense in the course of the legal proceedings and ask the public to please withhold judgment until then,” Buley said.
Lohman's next scheduled court appearance is Feb. 20.
