New business

The M Store in downtown Missoula is launching a game day location in Washington-Grizzly Stadium during football season. The StadiuM Store will offer a selection of collegiate licensed Griz apparel, hats and more on the West concourse. The business will also have a location in the Adams Center during basketball season, and at select volleyball and soccer games. The M Store was founded in 2010 and is locally owned by Griz alum Carl and Annette Rummel.

New associates

Scott Osteen, project architect, has joined A&E Architects. Osteen brings over 19 years of experience to the firm, skilled in large scale project management. He also possesses in-depth knowledge regarding sustainable building practices, and has managed a wide range of project types, including education, commercial and residential.


Jaclyn “Jacqi” Grogan, MSW, passed a state board exam to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She currently works as a Hospice Social Worker for Partners in Home Care (PIHC). Grogan previously worked as a home health aide for PIHC while attending the University of Montana where she received her bachelor's degree in psychology and then a master's in social work. Prior to returning to PIHC in March 2015, she was employed by Riverside Health Care as director of Social Services.


Heather Hastings was Employee of the Month for July and and Lynnsey Dreiling was Employee of the Month for August at First Interstate Bank.


Montana has implemented STARS to Quality, a program to help guide and support child care facilities on a path to continuous quality improvement. Participating programs apply for star levels 1-5. Specific staff training and program assessments are required to achieve each level.  Area early childhood programs that have  received a STAR 3 level include: Spirit at Play, director Kelly Clouse and Ravalli Early Head Start, director Marjorie Vogoren. New STAR 2 programs include: Iddy Biddies, director Kelsey Woods; Missoula Early Head Start, director Linda Larsen and Doodlebugs, director Kimberly Minkler. New STAR 1 programs include: Beautiful Beginnings, director Rebecca Brush; UM Learning and Belonging Preschool, director Kristin Dahl-Horejsi; Missoula Valley Montessori, director Kim Mead; Child Start, director Patricia Croghan; Montessori Plus International, director River Yang; Happy Cubs, director Kandi Donath; Growing Sprouts, director Sarah Ederer and Small Wonders, director Stephanie Brunner.
