Mika Crist joined KPAX TV as director of sales. Crist comes to Missoula from Colorado where she served as local sales manager at KDVR in Denver, national/regional sales director at KOAA in Colorado Springs and local sales manager for Comcast in Champaign, Illinois. She has a degree in broadcast sales from Vincennes University in Indiana.
The Brain Injury Alliance of Montana (BIAMT) recently promoted Outreach and Development Director John Bigart III to the position of executive director. Bigart will be responsible for leading BIAMT with its mission of creating a better future for those in Montana that have been impacted by brain injury. Part of this mission includes the Brain Injury Help Line which is a free, statewide service that provides support to persons affected by brain injury and their families. The Missoula Job Service Employers’ Council has elected three new members to its board. They are Amber Kamps, Krystal Plantz and Demian Swab. Kamps is the outreach, recruitment, and retention program specialist for the Northern Region & National Office of the United States Forest Service. She has served in this position since October of 2014. She began her Forest Service career at the age of 16 working on the trail crew on the Bighorn National Forest. Her career has spanned across Wyoming, north Idaho and western Montana working in recreation, fire management, silviculture, timber and as a team leader. She also served nearly 12 years as a district ranger in Lincoln. Kamps has a bachelor’s degree in forest resource management and a master’s degree in ecosystem management with a sociology emphasis, both from the University of Montana. Plantz has worked for Allegiance Benefit Plan Management for a total of 3 1/2 years. She currently is the HR manager and holds her PHR certification. She has over 15 years’ experience being in the insurance industry and the human resource field. She is very excited to learn and contribute ideas into our community with other experts of HR by joining JSEC, Job Service Employer Council. Swab is vice president of operations at Jones Brothers Trucking a logistics company located in Missoula. He is a graduate from the University of Texas at Dallas where he received a B.S. in business administration. After graduation, he moved back to Montana and spent four years as a wildland firefighter. Ten years ago he joined the team at Jones Brothers trucking in operations after completing their management trainee program.
