New associates

Kandy Jenkins, MBA, has been hired by the Montana Medical Association Health Plan and Trust (MMAHCPT) as plan administrator. MMAHCPT is the only health insurance plan managed by Montana physicians that is offered to businesses in the health care industry in the state.

Karl Tyler Chevrolet has hired Michelle Davis as the marketing assistant; Rob Hubka as the digital image assistant to our marketing team and Dan Lynn as a sales professional to the sales team.

Shenoa Strandvold has joined Child Care Resources as the executive assistant providing support to the management team, the board of directors, and marketing efforts. Strandvold was previously the communications and development coordinator at the Acorn School for Early Childhood Development in Boulder, Colorado. She is a graduate of Harding University in Arkansas where her studies included nonprofit management and Spanish.

Irene Tiefenthaler has joined Child Care Resources as an early childhood professional development specialist/consultant. Tiefenthaler has been an early childhood director for over nine years in the Missoula community. She will complete her master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in Advanced Early Childhood Education in December. Recently she has served as president and vice president of the Missoula Chapter of NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children).

David Capser, P.E., has joined the team at Territorial-Landworks, Inc. (TLI), a Montana-based engineering and surveying firm, as a project manager for the Land Use Development division. Capser brings over 13 years of experience in development, mining, and municipal engineering to TLI. Capser has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Montana State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Mary.

Kris Harlow has joined the team at Territorial-Landworks, Inc. (TLI), as a drafting technician for the Land Use Development division. Harlow has an extensive customer service background and will assist the engineers with design and drafting of client projects. Harlow is a graduate of Missoula College with a Certificate of Science in Computer-Aided Design (CAD).

Elected

John Bradford, MPAS, PA-C, has been elected to a four-year term on the board of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) as a PA director at large, beginning January 2018. Bradford, a Certified PA practices in urgent care, general medicine, occupational health and emergency medicine in rural Montana, Wyoming and Alaska. During his career, he has worked on five continents to improve health in resource-poor areas. Bradford is a Missoula resident who is currently practicing medicine in the Prudhoe Bay region of Alaska, operating a small clinic that serves several hundred people.

United Way of Missoula County announced Beth Burman Frazee, senior account manager, director of Take Flight Missoula at Windfall Studio, as the campaign chair for the 2017 fundraising campaign, which is officially underway and runs through January 2018.

Recognition

John Herring was named Realtor of the Year for 2017 at the Montana Association of REALTORS® annual joint convention. Herring was first licensed in 1989, and is broker-owner of RE/MAX All-Stars in Missoula. His involvement in the REALTOR® community includes having been president of the Missoula Organization of REALTOR® in 2005 and 2013 as well as president of the Montana Association in 2017. He also has been awarded REALTOR® of the Year in 2006, 2014 and 2016, and was Salesperson of the Year in 1998. He's earned the Graduate REALTOR® Institute, Accredited Buyers Representative, and E-Pro designations as well as the Certified Residential Specialist Designation held by less than 5 percent of Realtors nationwide.  

Professor Emeritus Greg Munro of the University of Montana's Alexander Blewett III Law School received the Career Achievement Award from the Montana Trial Lawyers Association at their annual convention in Missoula in August.
