Missoula residents can watch their regrets, do-overs and hopes set ablaze on Friday, when the Burning (Mini)van tour comes to Missoula.
MamaLode magazine's founder, Elke Govertsen, has described it as "a good way to incorporatethe catharsis parts of Mamalode magazine into an actual live event."
The event will also serve as a diaper and wipe drive for Mountain Home Montana, a local nonprofit that supports young moms ages 16-24 with housing, mental health services and education.
A full-sized wooden minivan has been constructed and will be on the Tour De Van leading up to the Friday, Jan. 30, event at Flanagan Motors.
People are encouraged to write down regrets, do-overs, and hopes to add to the fire. These written items will then be placed inside the van prior to it's being set alight. The result is a community bonfire celebrating the letting-go of regret and the looking forward to the future.
Headwaters Dance Company will be perform live dance, and Missoula Mayor John Engen will be speak at the event.
