The children of Dave and Phyllis (Jones) Mainwaring announced the celebration of the 50th wedding anniversary of their parents on July 8. They were both residing at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, at the time of their marriage in Bedford, Iowa, the home of the bride.
Phyllis was a Department of Defense teacher on the air base and Dave was a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, assigned to the 417th Tactical Fighter Squadron. Dave later worked in insurance sales. He enjoys golf, sports, travel, reading and World War I military history. Phyllis was a history teacher. She is involved in PEO, Reading Club and As You Like It Study Club, and enjoys travel, reading, adult college courses, and attending her grandchildren’s sports and music activities.
They are the parents of David J. Mainwaring of Salem, Oregon; Kristin McCulloch of Missoula; Scott Mainwaring of Missoula and Geoffrey Mainwaring of Great Falls. They have five grandchildren, Kade, 16; Kenadi, 14; Chloe, 11; Mac, 12; and Addi, 9.
The entire family went to Oahu, Hawaii, to celebrate their 50th anniversary. The trip featured a renewal of their vows at the Eden Presbyterian Church using the same wedding service from July 8, 1967.
