Bill and Joanne Reynolds of Missoula celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Thursday with a family celebration at their home.
William A. Reynolds and Joanne F. Flanagan were married Oct. 6, 1956, in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
Born April 20, 1930, Bill was raised in Missoula and graduated from the University of Montana in 1952 and Washington University School of Medicine in 1956. He trained in internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic and practiced medicine in Missoula from 1963 to 2001. From 1959-61 he served with the Air Force in Morocco. Bill was president of the American College of Physicians in 1997-98.
Joanne was born in Hendersonville on July 27, 1930, and raised there. She graduated with a nursing degree in Virginia and was employed by the University of North Carolina Children’s Hospital and Shriners Hospital in Minneapolis. Joanne has volunteered in Missoula since 1963.
The couple has three children, Susan Ballinger of Wenatchee, Washington, Janet Winnie of Bozeman and James Reynolds of Helena; and five grandchildren.
