The Missoula Building Industry Association (MBIA) and Missoula Organization of Realtors (MOR) have teamed up to present the 3rd Annual Denim and Diamonds Gala Event, an evening of silent and live auctions to benefit the Missoula community. Proceeds from the event this year will be given to Mountain Home Montana and MOR4Kids.
Each year the Missoula Building Industry Association selects a local nonprofit organization that has a need for a building project through an application process. This year Mountain Home Montana has been selected and will utilize the funds to construct a storage unit and retail store for donated items. Mountain Home provides a safe, loving home where young mothers can discover their strengths and their children can experience the joys of childhood.
The members of the Missoula Organization of Realtors created MOR4Kids in 2011 when it was realized that many Missoula children were going to school hungry, or without proper supplies and clothing. Money provided to Missoula County school resource rooms is intended to cover the gap in funding for food, milk, clothing or even gas to help parents get their kids to school. MOR4Kids’ mission is to offer a chance for every child and to renew hope.
While both the MBIA and MOR have a long-standing tradition of raising funds for local Missoula charities, Denim and Diamonds brings together the builders, Realtors, and affiliate organizations from the industry to collaborate and raise money for those in need.
The Gala Evening will be held on Thursday, Dec. 3, at the University Center Ballroom at 6 p.m. Live and silent auction items range from fabulous gift baskets and hand-made quilted items to a lakefront getaway and a hunting rifle. Tickets are available online at buildmissoula.com and the event is open to the public. If you would like to make a donation or provide an auction item please contact email@example.com today!
