ReStyle Clothing Exchange has partnered with Special Olympics Montana’s Five Valleys Area for a clothing bag sale scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 29, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at Missoula Catholic Schools Athletic Complex Gymnasium, 1040 S. First St. W. The event is open to the public.
For $10, attendees will be able to fill a 13-gallon bag with good condition, brand-name clothing, shoes and accessories from ReStyle. All of the proceeds benefit Special Olympics Montana’s Five Valleys Area, which serves local teams in western Montana. Pre-entry tickets, which allow ticket holders to access the sale at 1 p.m., are available for a $10 donation at ReStyle Clothing Exchange, 2704 Brooks St. B.

NAMI Missoula is offering a new NAMI pilot program "NAMI Family & Friends," a free, 4-hour seminar intended to inform and support people who have loved ones living with mental illness. The seminar will be presented on Sunday, Nov. 5, from 1 to 5 p.m., and again on Thursday, Nov. 9, from 5 to 9 p.m. While the presentation is designed for family and friends 18 years and older, youth 14 and up may attend so long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. November is National Family Caregivers Month. The Resource Center at Missoula Aging Services is offering the following educational opportunities for caregivers and professionals in the field of aging, in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association:
"Effective Communication Strategies for Caregivers" is a free workshop that will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Missoula Public Library, 301 E. Main St. This 1 1/2 hour workshop is for caregivers of those living with dementia who wish to learn how to decode messages through attitude, tone of voice, facial expressions and body language.
