A mother recovering from surgery is very limited in her physical activity and needs assistance to hire people to help her move from an unlivable housing situation. There is no truck available and no money to rent one or hire people to load belongings. Cost may be as high as $500, but volunteers could lower cost considerably. A man who suffers from brain atrophy and bipolar disorder is making great progress with becoming more independent in the community and would like to obtain a track phone from Walmart to help him with communicating with others in his life. Since 1997, A Camp to Remember has provided fun and healing programs for kids ages 8-18 who are grieving the death of a family member. With offices in Missoula, Browning and Kalispell, Tamarack Grief Resource Center is committed to supporting any grieving child likely to benefit regardless of ability to pay. The full cost to implement camp is $500 per camper. Over 75 percent of campers seek and receive scholarships to attend camp. Please consider a tax-deductible donation to TGRC to provide a partial or full scholarship to any of the over 50 campers who will participate in camp Aug. 14-17 at Flathead Lake. Call 406-541-8472.

• A young boy’s father died by suicide early this year. The child has withdrawn from friends and would like a chance to connect with other children who have also experienced the death of a family member who may understand at A Camp to Remember. The guardian is seeking a scholarship.

• Two siblings tragically lost their father to suicide and subsequently have had to move multiple times since the death due to loss of income and the need for increased support. The mother works hard, but has faced multiple financial challenges and is the primary support for her kids amidst her own grief. She is seeking scholarships for A Camp to Remember.

• A young girl experienced the sudden death of her mom following a medical emergency. Since the loss of her mom she has moved multiple times changing peer groups and schools. Her father has faced challenges with employment threatening homelessness, and they are requesting a scholarship to attend grief camp in hopes that she may spend time with a caring group of peers with whom she feels safe and comfortable. The family will need a full scholarship.
