A patient/client lives in a remote area of Missoula County. She is a recently widowed woman who spent years caring for her husband prior to his death. She has her own serious health concerns and is falling through many of the human resource safety nets. She has done a tremendous amount of work to reach out for assistance despite the gravity of her disease and the deep pain of losing her husband. However, she must wait for determinations from SSDI and the public assistance programs for which she may be eligible. In this 2-6 month interim she runs the risk of extremely over-due bills and/or utility shut-off and inability to get groceries or make it to doctor appointments (no gas money). The most immediate need is for gas, groceries and basic living expenses (in the form of gas cards or gift cards) so that she eats, pays bills, makes it to her doctor appointments. If you can help, contact Taresa Spade, MSW, Bereavement Coordinator, SpadeT@partnersinhomecare.org or 406-327-3637.
