Bitterroot Audubon’s February meeting will feature a presentation of stunning, professional bird videos by members of the team that produced them.
BJ Worth is a former Hollywood aerial stuntman and filmmaker who has used his skills to capture video of over 900 bird species doing what birds do. Josh Covill is a Montana birding prodigy. Both are board members of Wings In Nature, an organization whose mission is to safeguard bird populations by inspiring our awareness and enthusiasm for birds, bird behavior, bird research and birding activities.
They will show several short videos from WIN’s Birds In Motion project, which is producing videos to document bird behavior for every bird species in North America. They also will show “Winged Harlequins,” a 30-minute documentary featuring Harlequin Ducks and the species’ collective response to threats facing its global population. They will then show and discuss the specialized camera equipment they use to capture their vivid sequences — now recorded in 4K video.
The presentation is on Monday, Feb. 19, at 7 p.m. at the Bedford Building Community Room, 223 S. Second St., Hamilton. The program is free, and the public is invited. For more information, contact Kay Fulton at 406-360-8664.
