Join the Flathead Audubon for a tour of one of the most unique areas in the Flathead Valley: Owen Sowerwine Natural Area.

Meet at the Montessori School, 349 Willow Glen Dr., in Kalispell at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 31. We’ll enter a world of wetland wonders to experience and study the wildlife, vegetation and predator/prey relationships that give this location its special flavor. The focus will be on where to search for and identify animal tracks, and where to see and listen for birds of prey, waterfowl, woodpeckers and songbirds.

Come prepared with proper layers, lunch, water, binoculars, spotting scopes, good boots, snowshoes if you have them just in case, and bird books. Brian Baxter, an experienced forester, wildlife researcher and outdoor educator, who has been in the woods for more than 40 years and teaching for approximately 17 years, will be the guide. Participants must register with Baxter at b_baxter53@yahoo.com or call 406-291-2154.
