Charlo School District was closed on Wednesday following a bomb threat at the school.

The district said in a statement that a note about a bomb was found by custodial staff Wednesday morning, prompting the cancellation of the school day.

In a statement posted on the district’s Facebook page Wednesday morning, the school asked parents to keep their children at home if they hadn't left for school yet. Students arriving by bus would be kept away from the school until arrangements are made.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office searched the campus and didn't find anything, but the investigation is ongoing, the district said.

Classes will be in session on Thursday.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lake County Sheriff's Office at 406-883-7301.
