ORANGE, Texas — Diane Mae "Mazzie" (Bohy) Hilliard, 82, of Orange, Texas, passed away Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, in her home. Born Jan. 31, 1935, in Arnold, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of August G. and Serena (McArdle) Bohy. She graduated from Arnold High School in June 1953. After graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Airman 1st Class Norman C. Hilliard, USAF, in Arnold Methodist Church in October 1953. She traveled the world with her military husband and five children for the next 21 years. After Norm retired, they moved to Clinton, where they raised sheep. Diane enjoyed painting, writing poetry and helping with the ranching on their small ranch. She was also retired as a lieutenant in the Clinton Volunteer Fire Department.
Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Clyde Hilliard; son, Michael Clyde Hilliard; her parents; and sister, Betty Anne (Bohy) Speer.
She is survived by her children, Michele (Paul) Hilliard-Reed, of Orange, Texas, Cindy (Ken) Hilliard-Rosenbaum, of Helena, Bobb (Debb) Hilliard, of Billings, and Julie Hilliard Jefferson, of Lebanon, Oregon; 17 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Kathy (Roger) Page, of Pahrump, Nevada, and Sharon (Dan) Wiseman, of Bloomington, Indiana.
Mazzie was dearly loved by all and will be greatly missed.
