MISSOULA — Glen Walter Hunter, 69, of Missoula died in the evening of Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017, at his home, surrounded by family.
He was born in Missoula on July 23, 1948, and was the youngest of seven sons of Daniel and Leona Hunter. Glen married Glenda Hunter in the spring of 1990 and started the bond of fatherhood for her four kids, Jay, Dee, Colleen and Leslie. Even though the marriage didn’t last, the bond he shared with his kids never ended. Glen loved his kids and wouldn’t miss a chance to see them, especially his closest and youngest daughter Leslie. He enjoyed bowling in his Friday Senior Leagues, hanging out with his brothers, going to the Missoula Osprey games with his brothers, watching and listening to sport games, heading to Sunday breakfast and watching stock car races.
Glen was a long haul truck driver for most his life.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents Dan and Leona; brothers, Barry and Fred Erickson, Jack and Dan Hunter and son Jay Monroe.
Survivors include brothers, Lee (Dorothy) Hunter, Roy (Fran) Hunter, daughters; Leslie (Brandon) Wornath, Dee (Keith) Heins, Colleen (Chris) Sharrard, grandkids; Christopher Sharrard, Devan, Ashley and Melissa Heins, lifelong friends; Robert and Sharon Barbe and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018, at 1 p.m. at The Missoula Cemetery with a reception to follow at Westside Lanes.
Glen lived a simple life and was a sweet man and if you knew him, you loved him. His patience will be missed. He was never in a hurry. On his last day he apologized that he wasn’t better company, what a selfless act and a reflection of his character. He will be greatly missed and it won’t be the same without him.
