HAMILTON — Louis LeRoy Thompson, known as Roy by his family and Tom by his friends, passed away at Marcus-Daly Hospital in Hamilton on Monday, Oct. 6, 2017, at the age of 86
"Tom" was born June 8, 1931, in Rock Springs, Wyoming, and shortly thereafter moved with his family to Ely, Nevada. After graduating White Pine High School in Ely, Tom joined the Air Force, serving during the Korean conflict. He retired as a Master Sergeant after 22 years. After his retirement he had many business adventures, living in Arizona, Nevada and Montana.
He met his wife Millie (Mildred Appleby) while living in Arizona. They were married in Ely, Nevada, on Sept. 15, 1982. They moved to the Bitterroot Valley shortly after and made their home on Laird Creek, by Connor. Millie pass away April 1, 1986.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and oldest sister Vanay Neiderhauser, as well as brothers in law, Jack Neiderhauser, Tom Carlin and Dave Schneidmiller.
Tom is survived by his sisters, Glenna Carlin of Nederland, Colorado and Lucy Carol Schneidmiller of Richland, Washington, his bother Jerry Thompson, (wife Kerry), of Spring Creek, Nevada. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces and long time companion, Joan Neely.
Per Tom's wishes there will be no services.
