MISSOULA — Richard Woldemar Tag, 73, of Missoula went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Dec. 24, 2017 as a result of an infection.

Richard was born in Missoula on Aug. 7, 1944 to Woldemar and Ruth Tag. On Aug. 28, 1965 Richard married his high school sweetheart Phyllis Hanson. They loved each other dearly. They were married for 53 years, and had three children Jonathan, Marie and Nathan.

Richard was a gentle kind man who loved his Lord, family and friends. He talked often about God with his son and on hikes with his daughter, always encouraging his grandchildren to love and follow Jesus.

Richard retired after 40 years at Smurfit-Stone as a maintenance specialist.

He was an active member of Discovery Alliance Church. He was a skilled craftsman that was very giving of his time and talents.

Richard loved America, Montana, hunting, hiking, fishing and enjoyed restoring cars. Throughout his life, Richard was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. His faith sustained him when his son Jonathan died in 1979.

Survivors include his wife Phyllis, daughter Marie, son Nathan (LaNada), eight grandchildren; Ellie, Adeline, Andrew, Eva, Annalise, Alaiyah, Anikah and Therin. His brothers; Paul (Mary) and Roger (Carol) and many nieces and nephews.

Richard will be missed. His legacy will live on.
