BOZEMAN – Samuel Isaac Edelman, 18, of Bozeman, died Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016. Sam was born April 5, 1997, in San Diego and attended Dingeman Elementary School before moving to Bozeman in 2005. He attended Irving Elementary, Chief Joseph Middle School and Bozeman High School, and was a student at the University of Montana in Missoula.
Our sweet, beautiful child and sibling – strong, compassionate, smart, witty, and sarcastic. A talented musician, expert snowboarder, taekwondo black belt and his dad’s best hunting partner. Sam was a staunch advocate for human rights and equality for all. The world is a lesser place without Sam – he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his parents, Adam and Vickie of Bozeman; his brother, Josh; and sister, Sophia; his grandparents, Ray and Vivian Edelman of Woodland Hills, California, and Doug and Julie Simpliciano of Simi Valley, California; aunt and uncle, Andrea and Mark Yob, and cousins, Branden and Brenna Yob of El Segundo, California; aunt and uncle, Dan and Joan Edelman, and cousins, Zeke and Elijah of Ramona, California; aunt and uncle, Jenny and Phil Crosby, and cousins, Jocelyn and Sara of Newberry Park, California; aunt, Amy Simpliciano of St. Marys, Kansas; aunt, Lisa Simpliciano of Simi Valley, California; uncles, Danny and Bobby Simpliciano of Sherman Oaks, California; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in Hawaii.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, at Congregation Beth Shalom, 2010 Koch St., in Bozeman. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery.
