As one of those students who caused "tremendous grief" for a high school ad ministrations back in the '60s, I see those folks are up to it again - not trusting their students, not trusting the teaching of their students and not trusting the teacher advisers! Like they say, teachers are still teaching even when they are on the picket line. The administration is teaching. What I learned back in the day was to distrust and hate authority. And I do to this day. I have been involved with four union movements during my 45-year career.

But what I really learned was that the administration was just trying to cover their own butts. Luckily, my partner in crime and I had powerful forces behind us and we didn't get kicked out of school. In fact, the administration had to make a report to the school board about the situation. Later the principal quit and left the country.
