Forest Service officials closed the Lee Creek Campground, Lee Ridge Trail and North Lost Park Road west of Lolo Hot Springs as the Packer Meadows fire continued to burn Wednesday.
Lolo National Forest spokesman Boyd Hartwig estimated the 150-acre fire was 25 percent contained Wednesday afternoon. A crew of 120 firefighters, one fire engine, and one bulldozer are working on the line, backed up by three helicopters.
The fire is burning in dense lodgepole stands near Lolo Pass. Smoke was occasionally blowing across U.S. Highway 12 and could be seen from Missoula. Lightning started the fire on Monday.
