Run Wild Missoula is holding a 16-week training program for those who want to walk the Missoula Marathon or Half Marathon on July 12.

The first walking class meets Saturday at 8 a.m. in conference rooms I and J at Community Medical Center. The class costs $20 for Run Wild Missoula members and $35 for nonmembers of the club.

Participants will receive encouragement, coaching and practical suggestions by veteran marathon walkers; a comprehensive training program for half and full marathon; twice weekly group meetings (Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings); speakers on various training topics; a nutrition plan; and a training class T-shirt.

Run Wild Missoula, a nonprofit running club, promotes and supports runners and walkers of all ages and abilities.
