The Maureen and Mike Mansfield Center will host the eighth annual “CHINA Town Hall: Local Connections, National Reflections” at 5 p.m. Thursday at the University of Montana’s Gallagher Business Building, Room 106.
The free town hall will feature former President Jimmy Carter by live webcast and on-site guest speaker Robert A. Kapp, president of Robert A. Kapp & Associates and former president of the U.S.-China Business Council.
Carter will discuss U.S.-China relations and respond to questions from audience members at venues nationwide, including Missoula. During the on-site discussion, which will follow the webcast, Kapp will address the economic challenges confronting China and how those challenges affect the U.S.
“CHINA Town Hall” is a national day of programming on China involving 70 cities across the United States. The event is co-sponsored by the Mansfield Center, UM’s School of Business Administration, The Carter Center and the National Committee on United States-China Relations.
