The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch, in effect through Tuesday morning for Flathead County and Glacier National Park.

"Rain will become moderate to heavy at times," according to the notice. Rainfall totals of 1-2 inches are expected, with some areas receiving higher amounts.

"Heavy downpours could pose an issue for Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park," the watch says. "Rock and mudslides will be a possibility if the road is caught under the heaviest bands of rainfall or under a potent thunderstorm. Steep terrain elsewhere in Glacier National Park will be at risk of seeing excessive runoff."
