BILLINGS – For the second time this week, a Gallatin County rescue team was called to rescue a man who had wrecked a snowmobile in the Two Top snowmobile trail system.
However, by the time rescuers arrived at the crash site, other snowmobilers had bandaged the injured man and transported him to a hospital.
The initial report was made at 1:38 p.m. Saturday, when the Fremont County Sheriff's Office requested assistance with the rescue. A 25-year-old Nevada man reportedly rolled his snowmobile and suffered injuries to his head and face.
The crash happened on the BPA Powerline trail.
The Gallatin County Sheriff's Office, West Yellowstone search and rescue and Hebgen Basin Fire District sent personnel to the scene. Later, they were able to contact the group and confirm that the man had been cared for.
