Milltown State Park

Montana State Parks invites the public to celebrate National Trails Day at Milltown State Park on Saturday, June 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Trail work is afoot at the Milltown State Park, where staff and volunteers will help with trail construction of the Floodplain Loop. The trail system will connect the overlook to an existing rail grade and blend recreation with interpretation of the area’s natural and cultural history, river ecology and restoration.

Participants will meet at the Milltown State Park Overlook. Tools will be provided, but bring hiking boots and work gloves. Snacks and drinks provided, and kids are welcome.

National Trails Day is coordinated by the American Hiking Society, an organization working to protect trails, their surrounding environment and “the hiking experience.” For more information, go to June also happens to be national Great Outdoors month, so lace up your hiking boots and meet us at one of Montana’s newest state parks.
