A former Libertarian congressional candidate from Victor has been reported missing.

The Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office is asking for helping in locating 53-year-old David Philip Kaiser. He was last seen about 6 p.m. Friday and was reported missing Saturday.

“I believe he was reported missing by friends or family members when he didn’t show up for work,” said Ravalli County Sheriff Chris Hoffman.

Kaiser is Caucasian, 5 feet, 4 inches tall and about 200 pounds with blond hair and hazel eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark blue polo shirt, blue jeans, and red and white tennis shoes.

He may be traveling in a black and silver 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer with Montana Patriot license plates NNBB00.

Kaiser ran for the U.S. House in 2012 against Republican Steve Daines and Democrat Kim Gillan. He received 4 percent of the vote in last November’s general election.

According to his political biography, Kaiser went to high school and college in Minnesota, and co-founded a company of franchise video stores before purchasing two restaurants in Hamilton and Missoula. A licensed Realtor, he is divorced with two children.

David Merrick, the chairman of the Ravalli County Libertarian Party, said he hadn’t heard anything about Kaiser’s disappearance.

"5 feet, 4 inches tall and about 200 pounds"

Well, he won't get far on foot.

I'll keep my eye out for "Montana Patriot" license plates in the gun shop parking lots.
