For the fourth straight year, a firefighter from Missoula has won a stair-climbing competition in Seattle.

Missoula City firefighter Andy Drobeck won the Scott Firefighter Stairclimb on March 11 with a record time of 10 minutes, 39 seconds.

Drobeck broke the old mark of 10:53.78 set last year when Missoula Rural Firefighter Kory Burgess won the event for the third straight year.

Drobeck was runner-up last year in the event in which 1,550 firefighters in full combat gear race up more 1,300 steps in Seattle's Columbia Center.

A three-man team of Missoula City firefighters won the team competition with a combined time of 37 minutes, 43 seconds. Brad Roe was 12th and Robert Hanneman finished 24th.

The event raises money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
