GREAT FALLS (AP) – Montana officials have again closed public access to parts of the Missouri River after extensive partying in the area.

The Great Falls Tribune reports that the Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission voted Wednesday to reinstate a seasonal closure at White Bear Fishing Access Site. The gates will be locked beginning Friday.

The closure ends in September, when duck and big-game hunters will be allowed access to the river.

The state Fish, Wildlife and Park Service is considering long-term plans to sell or trade the land. The agency says it has become an attraction for troubling activity like underage drinking, illegal drug use, fights, vandalism and litter.
