A public meeting on the Roaring Lion Fire will be held tonight, Aug. 1, at 7 p.m. at the Ravalli County Fairgrounds First Interstate Center.

The meeting is being hosted by the Bitterroot National Forest and the Ravalli County Sheriff's Office.

"This is going to be a joint briefing that includes the Forest Service, sheriff's office and the Hamilton Fire Department," said Bitterroot National Forest Fire Management Officer Mark Wilson. "It will be the whole circle."

In Thompson Falls, officials from the Copper King Fire will be hosting a meeting and discussing the fire at the  Community Center at 7 p.m. tonight.  Management of the fire will be handed off to a Type 2 team at 6 a.m. Tuesday, and representatives from that team also will be there, according to the U.S. Forest Service.
