Power has been returned to about 2,200 customers in downtown Missoula and the Lower Rattlesnake, according to NorthWestern Energy.

The outage, which hit at roughly 7:30 p.m., lasted about 35 minutes, said NorthWestern spokeswoman Michelle Sullivan.

A failed lightning arrestor outside the downtown substation caused the outage, Sullivan said.
