BILLINGS — A 16-year-old boy from Carbon County died Saturday afternoon in a rollover on a dirt road near Red Lodge.

The crash was reported to Montana Highway Patrol at about 2:15 p.m. A 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer carrying four teenagers from Red Lodge rolled on Meeteetse Trail about six miles off U.S. Highway 212, according to MHP dispatch.

The road was extremely muddy at the time of the wreck. The driver and two of the SUV's passengers were not injured. The 16-year-old was partially ejected and died on scene. His address was not immediately known but the Carbon County Sheriff's Office released a statement Friday night referring to the person killed as a "Carbon County juvenile."

The other occupants of the Chevrolet include an 18-year-old man from Red Lodge, a 16-year-old boy from Red Lodge and a 17-year-old boy from Bridger. Alcohol, drugs and speed are not suspected factors in the crash, MHP said.
