The latest installment of YWCA Missoula’s Brown Bag Lunch Series will be held Friday from noon to 1 p.m. when Tobin Shearer presents “Ice Cubed: Understanding Racism.”
Shearer, an associate professor of history and director of African-American studies at the University of Montana, will cover essential tools for analyzing racism and oppression through the metaphor of an iceberg. He has worked for more than 15 years as an anti-racism educator and organizer, and led more than 450 workshops and presentations across the country dealing with issues of power and privilege.
YWCA Missoula’s Brown Bag Lecture Series provides the Missoula community with a space to discover and exchange information about topics that pertain to women and those of diverse ethnic backgrounds. Community members are welcome to bring their lunch and enjoy the free lecture.
