John Engen, mayor, Santa Claus at the Missoula Symphony Christmas Pops concerts, auctioneer at fundraising events for a multitude of nonprofits, and even a turn as emcee filling in for Kermit the Frog at a VSA Montana Cabaret Show. His appearance at this event many years ago was attitude-changing. Respect for abilities was the outcome and continues to this day.
John Engen knows Missoula, its people, its organizations — both for-profit and not-for-profit — its neighborhoods, and its needs. And he genuinely cares about the welfare of this city and its people. We can trust our water system, we can know that our potholes will be filled, our streets will be cleaned, our leaves will be picked up, and yes, we pay for these services with our taxes, but property values continue to rise and no one is complaining about that! We need more affordable housing and our mayor has been trying to make this happen for quite some time.
I trust John Engen to continue to work to meet the needs of the people of Missoula. I urge you to recognize the value of Engen's work, honor his integrity, his listening skills and his ability to address the issues, and vote for him.
