I respect the flag and what it stands for, which is exactly why I honor those who take the knee.

They take the knee because we have police officers who take lives because of the color of one's skin. That very act denies equal protection of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution and the promotion of the general welfare announced in the Declaration of Independence. These are two central tenets to the values upheld by our flag, which are denied by some police officers, and it's the reason people take the knee when the flag is raised.

The flag isn't about war, it's about honoring liberty here at home.
