I am from Kansas, so corporate campaign finance shenanigans and the dark money behind them is all too familiar to me. Starting in the early '90s, I watched as my home state was targeted as a testbed for political campaign messaging by cunningly obscure and slippery organizations with generic-sounding names like Economic Education Trust.
In Kansas, their success changed the political inclination of the entire state. We can’t let this continue to happen in Montana.
This is why I support John Heenan for Montana’s only U.S. House seat. He has a history of taking a stand for people rather than a history of making compromises with large corporations. While I recognize that compromise is often obligatory in our political and governing system, to start from compromise is a failed practice. Let’s start with standing up for what is right, standing against bullies, special interests, dark money and corporations with special interests. Let’s confront the issues head-on — it’s time they yield.
We are fortunate to live in in a state where strong, principled leaders are emerging. John Heenan is at the top of the list. Join me in supporting John Heenan for Congress.
