Montana is an incredible tourist and recreation destination, with our pristine and untouched public lands, but no one wants to be here when our wildfires are out of control. Tourism and recreation are one of the biggest contributors to Montana’s economy and the entire industry is at risk from the proposal to repeal the Clean Power Plan.

The Clean Power Plan is an extremely important factor in Montana’s economy and without it would cause our wildfire seasons to become even more intense than they already are, leading to less economic activity.

If the Trump administration and the administrator of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Scott Pruitt, decide to repeal this plan, it will lead to a CO2 free-for-all, causing our climate to warm even more rapidly. This will hurt our economy faster than we’re anticipating and we need to stand up and say something about it.

Montanans will see the harsh effects that climate change is bringing, like a weakened economy and destruction of natural beauty. We need to let Scott Pruitt and the Trump administration know that we do not approve of the repeal to protect our state.
