I recently saw U.S. Sen. Jon Tester on a news channel and he was throwing a copy of the proposed new tax bill onto a desk and saying he did not have time to read it as if he would be interested in voting for it. He said he was disgusted with the whole process and that the Republicans were rushing it through the Senate after just 100 hours of deliberation. Then I remember Nancy Pelosi ranting to the Republicans that they had to pass Obamacare to see what was in it.
I seem to remember the Democrats producing the Obamacare legislation with no Republican input, and this monster was 2,700 pages long. Tester cast the deciding vote for the passage of Obamacare, a real jewel!
Also in this TV interview Tester said he was concerned about the deficit in the new tax bill. I was wondering why he has not been concerned about the deficit during the Obama administration.
When Obama entered the White House the national debt was $8.5 trillion and when he left office eight years later it was $17.5 trillion. President Obama added more debt to this country than the previous 42 presidents before him. Good job on being concerned about deficits.
