Our protected public lands are in danger. Ten national monuments are targeted for significant reductions in acreage.
Utah’s Bears Ears National Monument could lose as many as 1 million acres to allow mining and drilling. The same is true for Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, also in Utah. These acres would be lost to hunting, fishing and hiking opportunities. Keep in mind that tourism is a sustainable, multi-billion dollar industry which provides local economies with numerous jobs. These jobs could be gone if Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke’s recommendations are upheld.
Please call the Department of the Interior at 202-208-3100; tell them to protect all of our national monuments, for our children and grandchildren’s sake.
