LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) -- Jake Paulson allowed just four hits over six innings, and Micah Miniard was also effective on the mound, as the Lynchburg Hillcats shut down the Frederick Keys in a 5-0 win on Monday.

Paulson (1-1) walked one to pick up the win.

Lynchburg went up 2-0 in the fourth after Mitch Longo hit an RBI double, bringing home Jodd Carter.

The Hillcats later added a run in the sixth and two in the seventh. In the sixth, Luke Wakamatsu scored on an error, while Logan Ice hit a two-run single in the seventh.

Ofelky Peralta (0-1) went four innings, allowing two runs and three hits in the Carolina League game. He also struck out five and walked four. Miniard pitched three scoreless innings for his first save of the season.

The Keys were held off the scoreboard for the third time this season, while the Hillcats' staff recorded their third shutout of the year.
