KINSTON, N.C. (AP) -- Anderson Tejeda hit a two-run home run and had two hits as the Down East Wood Ducks topped the Winston-Salem Dash 5-1 on Monday.

Down East started the scoring in the first inning when Tejeda hit a two-run home run.

The Dash cut into the deficit in the third inning when Alex Call hit a solo home run.

The Wood Ducks later added single runs in the third, sixth and seventh innings to secure the victory.

Down East southpaw Christian Torres (1-1) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on five hits over six innings. Opposing starter Dane Dunning (1-1) took the loss in the Carolina League game after giving up four runs and eight hits over six innings.
