Boys Basketball

Sam Gray scored 13 points and Chrishon Dixon eight as Billings Central won at Glendive 49-42 in Eastern A play. The Rams put nine players in the scoring column and Central used a 20-point fourth quarter in securing the win. Dixon scored all of his points in the final period, with Liam Clancy and Jae Hugs knocking down pivotal 3-pointers down the stretch. Stephen Steinbron scored a game-high 26 points for the Red Devils, all during the final three quarters.

• Jesse Owens scored 25 points and Cade Tyson added 19 as Billings West topped Billings Skyview 69-54 in the second Crosstown Classic of the year at Rimrock Auto Arena at MetraPark. West only led by two at halftime but a big fourth quarter allowed the Golden Bears to pull away from the Falcons late. Logan DeHaven scored 19 and Jeremiah Warner added 14 for the Falcons.

Sam Beighle scored 21 points — including consecutive 3-pointers to put his team into the lead in the fourth quarter — to help top-ranked Missoula Sentinel rally from a nine-point halftime deficit to defeat crosstown rival and No. 4 Missoula Hellgate 47-40 in Class AA play. Sentinel still trailed by four points after three quarters before outscoring the Knights 20-9 in the final frame. Rollie Worster poured in 26 points to lead Hellgate.

• Billings Senior topped Sheridan (Wyo.) 56-45 behind 17 points from Connor Kieckbusch. Braxton Haws added 15 and Brooks Zimmer scored 12 for the fifth-ranked Broncs.

• Ronan outscored Frenchtown 11-6 to close the game and pull off a 64-58 Class A win. The Chiefs led by as many as 16 points in the second half before the Broncs cut their lead to 53-52. After that, Ronan's Anthony Camel scored five of his 27 points and Nate Dennis went 4 of 4 at the free-throw line. Camel grabbed 12 rebounds for a double-double, and teammate Dallas Durheim added 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Cade Baker paced Frenchtown with 21 points. Ronan went 21 of 31 at the free-throw line, while Frenchtown finished 4 of 14. The Broncs shot 26 3-pointers to the Chiefs' nine.

• No. 5-ranked Manhattan Christian received 23 points and nine rebounds from Caleb Bellach en route to knocking No. 4-ranked Gardiner from the ranks of the undefeated with a 67-44 win at home in a Class C showdown. The Eagles also benefited from the 16 points from Sam Leep and 13 points from Ryan Busch. Gardiner, which shot just 29 percent, was led by the 14 points of Clancy Thomas and the 13 of Bryson Stermitz. Manhattan Christian pulled away with a 23-8 fourth-quarter surge.

Brandon Horton hit for 22 points in leading visiting Columbus to a 64-52 win at Red Lodge in a Class B contest. The Cougars, who also received 12 points from Ricky Preece, led 27-20 at halftime and 44-34 going into the fourth quarter. Tyler Bohan scored 16 for Red Lodge, Tucker Kane was close behind with 15 and Kaden Myrstol chipped in with 13.

• Laurel used a 14-3 start to defeat Sidney 53-35 in Eastern A play. Gaje Leischner led the Locomotives with 20 points, Camden Hill had 16 and Dante-Fipula Ankney added 10. Bridger Larson led the Eagles with 14.

• Three players in double figures carried Shepherd past Huntley Project 70-57 in Class B play. Thomas Aigner led the led the Mustangs with 19 points. Jake Trotter added 17 and Griffin Butsch 16. Shepherd made 24 of 36 free throws. Keenan Reynolds led the Red Devils with a game-high 26 points.

TJ Reynolds and Aaron White joined forces for 52 points as Shelby won at Harlem 68-61 in Class B play. Reynolds scored 31 points and White nailed six 3-pointers en route to his 21 points. Harlem was led by the 19 points of Brad Cichosz.

• Marcus Zeiler collected 20 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists in leading Florence to a 64-51 Class B road win over Corvallis. Senior Ryan Wiggins scored 21 points for the Blue Devils.

• Five players carried Forysth past Lame Deer 88-68 in a Class B shootout. Paul Johnstone led the Dogies with 21 points, Nathan Zard had 18 and Cade Johnstone 17. Caleb Knoche and Mickey Bidwell each had 11 for Forsyth, which made 22 of 38 free throws. Michael Weaselbear had a game-high 35 points for Lame Deeer, 15 in the fourth quarter.

• Tyson Petticrew scored a game-high 24 points as Charlo rolled past Hot Springs 56-29 in a Class C game. Brandon Knudsen paced Hot Springs with 14 points.

• Nick Whitman and Kody Jarvis scored 12 points apiece to lead Kalispell Glacier in a 52-44 Class AA win over Helena.

• CJ Nelson pumped in 34 points to help Scobey, No. 2 in the Class C boys 406mtsports.com rankings, to a 78-47 win over Class B Wolf Point. Nelson scored 16 points in a 32-point second quarter for Scobey. 

• Roberts used five players in double figures to hold off Absarokee 70-67 in a Class C game. Alex Kosel led the Rockets with 17 points. Ryan DeVries had 16 and Jace Wiemer 12. Riley Gebhardt and Agustus Dines had 10 apiece. Joaquin Pilcher tossed in a game-high 31 for the Huskies.

• Ethan Bullock had 15 points and Kell Schwers added 13as No. 8 ranked Big Timber defeated Manhattan 63-43 in a Class B game.

• Tanner Rae scored 13 points to help sixth-ranked Roundup squeak past Joliet 56-51 in Class B play. 

• Saco-Whitewater-Hinsdale outscored Lustre Christian 17-6 in the third quarter to break away for a 57-43 Class C victory. Trace Simonson led the winners with 20 points, including five 3-pointers. Zach Brown paced Lustre with 17.

• Nathan Brown tallied 13 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter as Lincoln outscored St. Regis 23-5 to turn a one-point lead into a 49-30 Class C win. Andrew Sanford paced St. Regis with 10 points.

• Four Seeley-Swan players scored in double figures as the Blackhawks beat Darby 56-51 in Class C action. Chance Johnson and Cameron Haines scored 13 apiece, and Avery Smith and Keaton Johnson added 10 apiece. Darby's Dylan Parks posted a game-high 26 points.

• Clay Wolfe scored 16 points and Jake Hughes added 13 as Twin Bridges toppled Philipsburg 51-30 in Class C play. Colton Grange collected 15 points for Philipsburg.

• A 19-5 start helped Fairview roll past Froid-Medicine Lake 52-27 in a Class C game. Alex Schriver paced the Warriors with 15 points and Carson Cayko had 12, eight in the first quarter.

Girls Basketball

• TyLee Manuel, Shayla Montague and Ambreya Windy Boy combined for 57 points in Billings West’s 75-57 Eastern AA win over Billings Skyview. Manuel finished with 21 points, and Windy Boy and Montague finished with 18 points each as No. 5 West won its sixth consecutive game. Montague hit four 3-pointers in the first quarter and had six overall. Windy Boy made four 3-pointers for the Golden Bears (6-1, 2-0). Kenzie Ketchum led Skyview (3-4, 0-2) with 18 points.

• Kola Bad Bear led fourth-ranked Billings Senior with 21 points as the Broncs blew past Sheridan (Wyo.) 49-30. “We rushed our offense at times, but once the second half rolled around we slowed down and got a lot of good shots off,” Senior coach Zach Robbins said. “Our non-starters brought a lot of energy off the bench and contributed well on our offense.”

Jordyn Schweyen scored 16 points and Kylie Frohlich added 11 as second-ranked Missoula Sentinel overpowered crosstown rival Missoula Hellgate 59-24 in a Class AA game. Sentinel led 32-4 at halftime. The Spartans next face top-ranked Helena.

• Laurel outscored Sidney 37-3 in the final two quarters in a 60-12 Eastern A win. Riley Chapman led the Locomotives with 14 points, Aspen Cotter had 12 and Sammi Spitzer 10. Laurel limited the Eagles to five points in the final three quarters.

• Oliva Moten-Schell scored 20 points to help Billings Central to a 52-46 win over Eastern A foe Glendive. Isabelle Erickson added 10 points for the Rams, who played their first game since a double-overtime loss to Hardin. Savannah Toms led Glendive with 18 points and Karsen Murphy added 10.

• No. 8-ranked Roundup, spurred by Savanna Wolff's 15 points, downed visiting Joliet 51-41 in a Class B encounter. The Panthers, who outscored the J-Hawks 31-19 in the second half, also received 10 points from Selina Angel. Joliet's Tayler Wright finished with 11 points. 

• Undefeated and seventh-ranked Savage defeated previously unbeaten and fifth-ranked Plentywood 54-53 in a Class C encounter. Savage had three double-digits scorers: Haylie Conradsen (11), Soda Rice (15) and Tyler Lien (16).  

Piper Johnson's 23 points sparked No. 10 Winnett-Grass Range to a 69-14 triumph at Jordan in a Class C matchup. Teammate Taylor Stahl added 16 points for WGR, which led 22-2 after one quarter. 

• Sophomore Kylee Thompson scored 16 points and junior Madison Kelly added 14 in leading St. Regis to a 55-41 Class C home win over Lincoln. Lynx senior JeriLyn Dietz tallied a game-high 18 points.

• Plains raced to a 24-point lead in the first quarter and cruised to a 67-15 Class C home win over Two Eagle River. Eleven players scored for the Trotters (5-4), led by Lindsay Laws with 18 points.

• Rachael Nicholson scored 14 points and Kamryn Scully added 12 as Deer Lodge outscored Jefferson 22-11 in the fourth quarter to win 56-42 in Class B play.

• Meg Delaney tallied 17 points and Liv Williams added 10 as Frenchtown earned a 42-31 Class A home win over Ronan. Micalann McCrea scored 11 points for the Maidens.
