Saturday night’s rally by Three Forks prevented any major shakeups in the 406mtsports.com girls basketball rankings.

Three Forks, No. 1 in Class B, trailed by as many as 12 points in the third quarter and by eight in the fourth before beating No. 3 Townsend 67-64 to hold on to the top spot. All the other No. 1s – Helena (AA), Columbia Falls (A) and Belt (C) also won out last week.

In fact, only a few teams in the rankings, which debuted last week, lost. Hardin, which won a double-overtime game against Billings Central on Saturday, entered the Class A poll for the first time and is the only newcomer overall.

On the boys side, more moves were made, especially at the Class A, B and C levels.

Hamilton (9-0) remains king in Class A, while Butte Central (7-1) moved up from No. 5 to No. 4 after topping Livingston 49-44 on Saturday. The Rangers (6-2) drop to the fifth spot.

Bigfork (8-0) still ranks at the top in Class B, with Colstrip (9-0) holding down the second spot as well. Three Forks, Florence and Rocky Boy all moved up as well while Roundup fell from No. 3 to No. 6 after a loss to Malta. Anaconda also dropped from No. 4 to No. 7 after a 63-52 loss to Florence. Big Timber (6-2) and Fairfield (6-2) make season debuts while Missoula Loyola continues to round out the top 10. After losses last week, Joliet and Lame Deer both drop from the list.

A couple of upsets shook the Class C rankings up a bit. Defending-champion Arlee (8-0) continues to reign in Class C with another pair of dominant wins. Gardiner moves up one spot to No. 4 and Manhattan Christian jumps from No. 7 to No. 5. After a loss to Heart Butte, Sunburst falls from No. 4 to No. 8 while Heart Butte (5-0) makes its debut at No. 7. Great Falls Central falls three spots to No. 9 after losing to Sunburst as well. Terry (7-1) replaces Bridger at the No. 10 spot on the rankings this week, the Terriers first appearance of the season. Lone Peak falls off of the rankings this week after a pair of losses.

In Class AA, Missoula Sentinel (5-1) remains in the No. 1 position.
