Neither of District 7-B's tournament finalists cruised through the semifinals but that hardly matters when the championship is so close.
No. 1 seed Bigfork and No. 2 Thompson Falls each survived close calls Thursday to earn spots in the boys' basketball finals on Saturday, a game to be played at Columbia Falls at 5 p.m.
Eureka and Troy will play for third.
The two squads have clinched 7-B's top two seeds to the Western B Divisional tournament the next week.
Thompson Falls 51, Eureka 50
At Thompson Falls, Bluehawks withstood a 20-point fourth quarter from Eureka and held on to advance to the 7-B championship.
T. Falls (14-5) led 38-31 after three quarters, but the No. 3 seeded Lions (8-11) got hot in the fourth. Chase Bohne hit two of his 3-pointers in the frame and finished with a game-high 29 points.
RJ Glover added 12 and Trey Bohne, who had surgery on his broken non-shooting wrist less than a week ago, added a bucket and played the whole game for Eureka.
The Hawks' Tanner Laws scored eight of his nine in the fourth to hold off Eureka and Joe Frields and Trais Hoisington both scored 12 in the win.
