HAMILTON -- Florence and Loyola Sacred Heart had a pair of tight battles during the regular season and the top two teams in District 6-B will renew the rivalry again Saturday in the district finals.
The Rams and Falcons will play at 7 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton for the top seed to the Western B Divisional next week at Kalispell. Ronan and Deer Lodge will play for third, but all four teams from the 6-B tournament advance.
Loyola split two matchups with Florence earlier this year, including a two-point climactic win just last week in Missoula.
Loyola Sacred Heart 54, Ronan 41
The Rams didn't need a double-digit scorer to get by Ronan in the first round. Top-seeded Loyola led by 17 headed into the final quarter before coasting to the finish line.
Carson Christian and Sam Johnston split the high-scoring duties for Loyola (16-3) with eight points apiece. Johnston's came with a pair of 3-pointers.
Colton McCrea and Cedric Earthboy both outscored that with 10 and nine points, respectively, but the Chiefs (8-12) couldn't hang with Loyola's depth. Eleven Rams scored.
