Four weeks into the high school football season, a new No. 1 is crashing the rankings for the first time this year.

The Charlo Vikings (4-0) slide into the No. 1 spot in Class C 8-Man after defeating St. Ignatius 52-14 last Friday. Charlo, last year's runner-up, moves up after previous No. 1 Ennis (3-1) was defeated by Hobson-Moore-Judith Gap last Monday. The Titans (4-0), who were previously not ranked, jump all the way up to the No. 3 spot while Belt (4-0) moves up one spot to No. 2. Fairview (4-0) and Forsyth (4-0) stay at Nos. 4 and 5 while Ennis falls to No. 6. Great Falls Central (4-0), Drummond-Philipsburg (4-0), Scobey (4-0) and Lone Peak (4-0) all round out the top 10. Joliet, which was No. 10, falls out of the group.

In Class AA, reigning champion Billings Senior (4-0) continues to assert its dominance and stays at No. 1. Helena Capital (4-0), too, is proving to be a strong contender for this year's title and remains at the No. 2 spot. Though it was defeated by Senior last Friday, Great Falls CMR (2-2) remains at No. 3 after a strong showing against the Broncs, while Missoula Big Sky (3-1) moves up a spot to No. 4 and Helena (2-1) makes its debut on this year's rankings at No. 5 while Bozeman falls out of the top five after losing to Butte.

Class A remains the same, with defending champion Dillon (3-0) leading the way. Class B also had a quiet week, with plenty of blowouts courtesy of the top teams. Nos. 1-8 stay put, lead by Eureka (3-0). Shelby (1-2) moves up one spot to No. 9 while Malta (2-1) once again cracks the list at No. 10.

In Class C 6-Man, Westby-Grenora remains unbeaten at 4-0 and in the top position in the rankings. Wibaux (4-0) also stays put at No. 2 while Valier (3-0) jumps up to No. 3 from No. 6 after topping Sunburst 55-20 last Thursday. Sunburst (3-1) falls to No. 7. After defeating Roy-Winifred 65-0 on Saturday, Bridger (2-1) moves up to No. 4 while Richey-Lambert (3-1) rounds out the top five. Geraldine-Highwood (3-0) also moves up one spot to No. 6 while Terry (4-0), West Yellowstone (4-0) and White Sulphur Springs (4-0) all stay put at Nos. 8-10 respectively.
