The Bitterroot Sparks 16U team has a lot to be excited about. The local sluggers won the NW World Series in Wenatchee, Washington, on July 23.

The Sparks went 6-0 over the weekend.

In pool play, the Sparks beat the NCW Sun Devils 16-3 and Fury Red 8-7. The Sparks were one of two teams to go undefeated in pool play.

In bracket play, they shut out the Blaze Velocity team 12-0 to start their run and inched past Fury Red 8-6 later that afternoon.

On Sunday, the Sparks shut out the Washington Rush 12-0 in the first game.

Since the tournament was double elimination, and the Rush won in the loser's bracket, the Sparks played the Rush for the title. The Sparks won 8-1 to be crowned NW World Champs for the 16B division.
