BOZEMAN — The winless Bozeman Icedogs proved no match for the Missoula Jr. Bruins on Saturday night at Haynes Pavilion.
The Jr. Bruins jumped on the hosts for four goals in the first 17 minutes en route to an 8-4 win in front of a small crowd. Missoula evened its record to 7-7-1 in the NA3 Hockey League Frontier Division. The winless Icedogs fell to 0-14.
Defenseman JJ Blondin started the scoring onslaught for Missoula with a goal 51 seconds into the game. Alaskan Hayden Moistner made it 2-0 with an assist from Missoula product Austin Dennison at 10:17.
Two minutes later, Parker Todd added a power-play goal. Teammate Isaac Vincent then lit the lamp with an assist from Rhys Cottle at 16:39.
Russian Misha Akatnov scored his first of two goals for the Jr. Bruins in the second period. He finished with two goals an assist and Cottle had one goal and two assists.
Duncan Wiest earned the win in net for Missoula. The Jr. Bruins will return to action Friday when they host the Yellowstone Quake at 7:30 p.m.
