The Missoula Lady Bruins finished second in the Sun Valley (Idaho) Tournament, losing 2-1 in an overtime shootout to host Sun Valley in the championship game.
Senior Cassidy Kerzman was the lone Missoula player to score in the defeat. Missoula goalie Aubrey McKay had 16 saves in the extended game.
The Lady Bruins ended the tournament with a 2-2 record. Junior Sid Triepke scored five goals in two games.
It was the second consecutive tournament in which Missoula lost to Sun Valley in an overtime shootout, falling to the Suns in Salmon, Idaho, Feb. 4.
The Lady Bruins dropped to 25-7-2 and will have a break from competition next weekend. Missoula will close out the 2017-18 season at the Montana Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) State Championship Tournament in Bozeman Feb. 23-25. Missoula is the defending state champion.
